Liberty Clinics
The pair studies under one of the most proven Liberty programs internationally.
Elliot and Caitie have trained multiple horses at Liberty through their clinics and their training program. These horses have been educated at Liberty for both non-professionals and professional performers within the industry. Many horses that come through Versatile Horsemanship have and continue to go on as solid Liberty horses both at home and in front of crowds, not only for Elliot and Caitie but for their owners!
There is a “method to the madness”.
This program is not our own, it is the life’s work of some incredible horsemen who have passed it down, and is built upon solid foundational skills that the horse and handler learn during the clinic.
Horses are not micromanaged. They are allowed to leave and through the process they learn to come back and begin to hunt a connection.
It is Horsemanship and communication, and it IS attainable for YOU and YOUR horse.
Elliot and Caitie have used Liberty to improve their Horsemanship and to gain more clear communication with horses and people. They have combined Liberty with training on high caliber Western and English performance horses as well as proven trail and ranch horses, mustangs out of the wild, and horses and ponies of all backgrounds and disciplines.
Riding Clinics
Clear communication is one of the main themes of ANY clinic taught by Elliot and Caitie. They aim to offer clear communication and coach the horse and rider to get on the same page together.
There's a whole lot of riding and doing at ridden clinics with Caitie and Elliot. Experiential learning is the best teacher both mentally and for muscle memory's sake.
"We're all about the experience. Horses should be FUN, and not just for an elite group. Our goal is to help you enjoy horses, horsemanship, and education again."
Let us show you what YOU and YOUR horse can accomplish TOGETHER.
Perks of being a host...
We bring the clinic straight to YOU!
Exposure for your business and/or facility.
We help you market the clinic.
Begin to build a community of equestrians near you!
And more.
What does a host do?
The host of a clinic with Versatile Horsemanship is the point of contact for that particular clinic.
The host spreads the word, advertises the clinic, gets participants and auditors registered, and aids in accepting deposits and payments.
The host is responsible for paying Versatile Horsemanship their cut of the clinic.
The host is free to add on and keep stall fees, grounds fee, fee for food/beverage, RV, etc. on top of Versatile Horsemanship’s daily rates.
The host is the beginning of the community that forms during the clinic. The host is the smiling face when participants arrive to the clinic and is the voice on the other end of the email, text, and phone line when participants are asking questions and signing up.
The host is just as important as the clinicians, and therefore has an equal responsibility in the success of the clinic and growth of the community.
What should a host know?
Clinics with Caitie and Elliot are laid back, informational, educational, FUN, and somewhat entertaining. We do our best to meet each participant and each horse at the level that they are at whether its a ground control clinic, a Liberty clinic, or a ridden clinic.
Liberty and ground control clinics are very one-on-one. Participants get individual sessions throughout the day. When horses are being started at Liberty in a clinic, Caitie or Elliot typically does the first couple of sessions with the horse, then we have the owner step in to begin working their horse.
Ridden clinics can be a large group style clinic, or a small group style. Either way, each participant gets ample attention.
Marketing
We CAN and do NOT mind helping hosts market a clinic.
We CAN create the flyer, create the Facebook event page, post it on our website, and share the clinic.
We just need communication from the host to do this.
What should participants bring?
Participants should bring whatever they need to take care of their horse during the duration of the clinic.
A chair and a notebook.
A list of goals that they want to accomplish and any tack that they require to have a successful clinic--such as a preferred halter and lead rope, or saddle and bridle. For Liberty Clinics, we typically have at least 1 set of whips that we will bring along with us and a halter and lead that we prefer if needed.
Other information the host should know.
Liberty clinics, especially when we have green horses and doing introductory to Liberty, are best done in about a 40 ft. round pen. The smaller space helps the horses understand the idea quicker because it helps the handler maintain the proper position easier.
If we're driving to you for a clinic, there is a chance that we have horses on the trailer so we may need a couple of stalls or a paddock to keep them in. We also have a LQ horse trailer that we may need to plug in, or a room to stay in. To sort out these details, reach out to Clinics@VersatileHorses.com
