These are all words that describe Wasabi. He WAS one of the waspiest colts we've started. He was originally meant to be a Snaffle Bit Futurity horse for Elliot, but we quickly realized that God had other plans for him.
He is the cowiest horse on the farm. Like, cowy to his bones. However, his greatest asset is also his biggest downfall. He is extremely watchy.
As watchy and snorty as he can be, he is also an incredibly talented little horse. Only doing what he absolutely must. I have used him in several demos and performances as a Liberty horse in front of large cheering crowds and he was AWESOME in each performance. He truly does best at International Liberty Horse Association (ILHA) events I believe due to their system of warm up pens and how the flow of those shows actually go.
He's also been great as herd help/turn back at ranch cutting events and sorts well here in the pens at home when we have clinics.
Where he is not awesome is in the warm up pen. And is even LESS awesome in the stall barn at a show. Hence, his success at ILHA events.
He's a little bit like 50 first dates- can see the mechanical cow or an obstacle/prop EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. and will STILL snort at it upon first sight. Then he'll get over it.
He is 14 hands of pure weirdo.
All that aside... He is not a bronc. He is not dishonest or counterfeit. He might have multiple personalities. Or maybe call it layers about him, like an ogre or an onion.
He can, at times, try harder to do anything else other than what you actually are wanting. He can be evasive.
I now have him to the point where I can give him MONTHS off from riding, and can jump straight on him and he's right where I left him.
This small but mighty little horse is the weird kid in class that you can't help but love.
I HAVE to be picky about where this little horse goes.
His ideal owner will value him forever and appreciate him for what he is rather than trying to make him something he is not.
He's an easy keeper and is sound. To date, the only "maintenance" he requires is front shoes. He does paw, can canter while hobbled, and sometimes climbs pipe fence like a goat if he's tied and would rather be elsewhere.
I recently paired him up at Liberty with my Welsh Cob pony prospect Archie and they are a DREAM TEAM! I would be willing to let them go together as a pair to thee right owner.
Serious inquiries only, not because he's that expensive,
but because he's that weird.
